Patient discussion about lump in breast

Q. What are the different type of breast lumps... what are the different type of breast lumps being confused by many as breast cancer and what are their symptoms?A. Lumps i.e. the thickened area are formed when the tissues of the breast undergoes some changes. These changes are of two types that is benign (non-cancerous) conditions or cancer. A benign breast condition can be mistaken as cancer. Most of benign symptoms are the same as those seen in breast cancer but a cancer will be hard and a firm solid lump. Common type of lumps are:
1)General lump – which are like nodules and they may come and go soon.
2)Abscess lump – also called cyst are fluid fill sacs and may be due to infection.
3)Adenomas – abnormal growth of tissues, like fibroadenomas , it’s a benign tumor.
4)Atypical hyperplasia – fast growing abnormal cells
5)Blood clots – some time blood clot in the vein is mistaken for lumps and as cancer even.

Q. Lump in the breast! Hi buddy! My gf is 30. For the past 3 months she is feeling something hard, marble like and lumpy in her breast which moves within its own place. I don't get on with her GP so don't want to go about this lump. Is there anywhere in UK where I can take her and have a mammogram and pay?A. Hi. Where I live we have a NHS mobile mammogram unit (kinda like a mobile home) that travels around the county. It's completely free to go and you don't need an appointment. You just drop in. I've never been but i'm pretty sure my mother has and it's all very easy. I don't know where you live (I'm in Essex, UK) but this might be worth looking into.

Q. I had found a lump during self breast examination.why is the lump growing? ) I am 23 years old. I had found a lump during self breast examination. I didn’t have pain in my breast. I went to the doctor for checkup. Many tests were done and no treatment is prescribed. No medicines were given. I suddenly found that the lump had almost doubled in size a month after my check with the doctor. They had previously told me that I do not have breast cancer. If that’s the case, why is the lump growing? A. A breast cancer can double in a month in some younger women. But its occurrence is very less. And your doctor had made it clear that you do not have a breast cancer. Some infection can also cause lumps. Lumps in breast can also be formed because of fat and blood vessels. There are chances that it may be fibro adenoma. This also grows like a tumor. No treatment is given as it can reduce in size but if it increases then it have to be removed by a surgery. So you must meet your doctor.
