nummular eczema

An uncommon chronic skin disorder, most common in elderly men, which is characterised by coin-shaped lesions. It is linked to hypersensitivity as there may be a family history of allergies, atopic dermatitis, or similar disorders.
 
Aetiology
Idiopathic; environmental irritants may worsen symptoms, as can skin dryness, temperature changes, stress, and foods with iodides or bromides.
