nice gene
nice gene
An as-yet unconfirmed association between the type of oxytocin receptor one inherits from both parents and whether one is “nice” (e.g., morally good) or otherwise.Per a report by Michel Poulin in the April 2012 Psychological Science, the difference may lie in whether a person inherits two guanines on the oxytocin receptor gene from each parent (G-G or “nice” genotype) or an adenine (A-G or A-A, the “naughty” genotype) from either or both. The study was based on 711 subjects in Buffalo (NY) whose saliva was tested for the difference.
