Mercury Dry Cell

a chemical source of current classified as a primary electric cell. Its negative electrode (anode) is made of Zn, and mercury oxide is used as active material for the positive electrode (cathode). The mercury dry cell is a modern version of the mercury cell; the term “mercury dry cell” came into use during the early 1960’s.
