Morganida

Morganida

a unit of relative (genetic) distance between genes, determined by their crossing-over frequency. One morganida corresponds to a crossing-over frequency of 1 percent. The genetic distance expressed in morganidas represents approximately the physical distance between genes; however, the number of pairs of nucleotides for 1 morganida may vary. The term “morganida” is not used in foreign scientific literature.
