Belz

 

a town in Sokal’ Raion, L’vov Oblast, in the Ukrainian SSR on the Solokiia River, a tributary of the Bug River. Belz is a railroad station on the Chervonograd-Rava-Russkaia line. Population, 3,000 (1968). The town has a creamery and a bread bakery. Belz was first mentioned in the chronicles in 1030.
