Born in 1898, in Buenos Aires. Latin American public figure and Argentine writer.

Oliver is the great-granddaughter of the Argentine national hero José de San Martín. Despite a serious childhood illness that confined her to a wheelchair for life, Oliver took part from her youth in the public affairs of her country. In 1936 she began writing impassioned articles against fascism. From 1936 to 1943, Oliver was vice-president of the Union of Argentine Women. She helped found the Argentine Peace Council in 1948. She was awarded the Gold Peace Medal in 1952. That same year, Oliver became a member of the World Peace Council; in 1953, she was made a member of its secretariat. In 1956, Oliver was one of the founders of the Continental Congress of Cultural Workers for the Defense of Peace. In 1957 she received the International Lenin Prize for Strengthening Peace Among Nations.

Oliver is the author of short stories, publicistic articles, and translations devoted to the national independence of the peoples of Latin America and to the defense of the national culture.
