Masally

a city (until 1960, a settlement), the center of Masally Raion, Azerbaijan SSR. Located in the Lenkoran Depression on the Viliashchai River (which flows into the Caspian Sea), 18 km from the Masally railroad station on the Astara-Baku line. Population, 11,000 (1972). Masally has a tea factory, a creamery and cheese dairy, a vegetable cannery, a tobacco-curing plant, and a combine processing agricultural products. Building materials are produced there.
