Lactobacillin

a culture of two species of Lactobacillaceae proposed by I. I. Mechnikov for souring milk or for internal use in the suppression of putrefactive processes in the intestines. Lactobacillin is another name for sour milk or yogurt that has been fermented with this culture (Mechnikov clabber).
