Lužnice

a river in Czechoslovakia (its upper course is in Austria); right tributary of the Vltava. Length, 208 km; basin area, approximately 4,200 sq km. It rises on the eastern slopes of the Novohradske Mountains and crosses the western part of the Bohemian-Moravian Highlands. The average discharge in the lower course is 23 cu m per sec. The city of Tábor is on the Luìnice.
