(also Nizhegorodskaia Chetvert’), a prikaz (government office) in the 17th and early 18th centuries that administered from 21 to 33 cities and their uezdy (districts), including Velikii Novgorod, Nizhny Novgorod, Pskov, Vologda, and Arkhangel’sk, as well as the major part of the European North.
