Munku-Sardyk

 

a mountain massif in the Vostochnyi Saian Mountains. It consists of six peaks, of which the highest is Munku-Sardyk (3,491 m). The massif is composed of granites. Forests grow in the river valleys to elevations of 2,000 m. Higher on the slopes, alpine meadows, mountain tundra, and rock streams are found. There are several small glaciers in the Munku-Sardyk massif (total area of glaciation, 1.3 sq km).
