(1859–1938) painter; born in Cincinnati, Ohio. A descendant of Rebecca Nurse who was burned at the stake in Massachusetts (1692), Elizabeth studied at the McMicken School of Art (later the Cincinnati Art Academy) with T. S. Noble (1874–81, 1885–86).
