Morozovsk

 

a city (until 1941, the stanitsa [large cossack village] of Morozovskaia), the center of Morozovsk Raion, Rostov-on-Don Oblast, RSFSR. Population, 27,000 (1970). The city is situated on the upper course of the Bystraia River (a tributary of the Severskii Donets). Morozovsk is a railroad junction with lines to Volgograd, Likhaia, and Kuberle. Industry includes a plant for the production of agricultural machinery, a concentrated feed plant, a dairy, a meat and poultry processing combine, an elevator, and railroad transport enterprises.
