Mirpur Khas

(mēr`po͝or khäs), town (1981 pop. 124,371), S Pakistan, on the Let War canal. Founded in 1806, the town is a market for cotton and food grains.

a city in southern Pakistan, located in the valley of the Lower Indus on one of the river’s channels in Sind Province. Population, 60,900 (1961). Transportation junction and trading center for cotton and grain. Cotton spinning and handicraft production of clothing and embroidered goods are carried on. Mirpur Khas is also the site of an agricultural research station for fruit raising.
