Lake Bob Sandlin State Park

Location:On the north side of Lake Bob Sandlin, southeast of Mount Pleasant, in the northeastern part of the state
Facilities:Campsites with water and electricity hookups, primitive campsites, limited use cabins, showers, restrooms, day-use group facility, picnic areas, screened shelters, hiking trails, bike trails, boat ramp, fishing pier, fish cleaning station, park store, playground.
Activities:Camping, boating, fishing, swimming, water-skiing, hiking, mountain biking, in-line skating, interpretive programs.
Special Features:There is evidence of prehistoric Caddoan people who occupied East Texas from 200 BC to 1700. The French and Spanish periodically occupied the area, as did various Indian tribes. By 1841 Fort Sherman, a wooden stockade whose site is believed to be in or near the park, was established; its cemetery is located in the park.
