Osteochondropathy
any morbid condition characterized by changes in the cancellous substance of short bones and epiphyses of long, tubular bones. Osteochondropathy is often associated with changes in articular cartilage. The etiology is unknown. The condition occurs mainly in children and adolescents and is detected by roentgenographic examination. Treatment depends on the form of osteochondropathy, and both conservative and surgical methods are used.
