Novospasskoe

an urban-type settlement; administrative center of Novospasskoe Raion, Ul’ianovsk Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the Syzran’ River (a tributary of the Volga), 196 km southwest of Ul’ianovsk. Railroad station on the Penza-Syzran’ line. Novospasskoe has a meat- and poultry-packing plant, a butter and cheese combine, a grain elevator, a feedlot sovkhoz, a silicate brick plant, and a forest-reclamation station.
