Novovoronezhskii

an urban-type settlement in Novaia Usman’ Raion, Voronezh Oblast, RSFSR. Located on the left bank of the Don, 40 km from Voronezh. Linked by a railroad branch line (10 km) with the Kolodeznaia station on the Voronezh-Georgiu-Dezh line. Population, 16,500(1973). Novovoronezhskii grew up in 1958 in connection with the construction of the Novovoronezhskii Atomic Power Plant. Novovoronezhskii has a plant producing reinforced-concrete items and structural members, as well as a dairy, a meat-packing plant, and a power-engineering technicum.
