Badzhal’skii

 

a mountain range situated between the Amur and Amgun’ rivers in Khabarovsk Krai, RSFSR. It is 220 km long and up to 2,640 m high. The range is composed of Permian shale and sandstone and Cretaceous andesitic basalt, broken through by granites, porphyries, and gabbro-diorites. Its crest is characterized by alpine relief forms and shrub-lichen tundra vegetation. Lower on the slopes is a fir-spruce taiga, which in the foothills is replaced by larch forests and goosefoots.
