Novyi Svet

an urban-type settlement in Starobeshevo Raion, Donetsk Oblast, Ukrainian SSR, on the Kal’mius River, 6 km from the Menchugovo railroad station on the Dolia-Ilovaiskoe line. Population, 10,500 (1972). The V. I. Lenin Starobeshevo State Regional Electric Power Plant is located in Novyi Svet, which also has a construction-components plant and a bakery.
