Mortimer, Charles G. (Greenough)

(1900–78) corporate executive; born in New York City. Drawing on previous advertising and merchandising experience, he rose through the corporate ranks of General Foods (1928–65), of which he was variously president, CEO, and chairman (1954–65). He was notable for developing such popular products as Birdseye frozen vegetables and Dream Whip topping, and for greatly expanding General Foods' international sales.
