Lyszczynski, Kazimierz
Born circa 1634; died Mar. 30, 1689, in Warsaw. Atheist thinker who lived in Poland and Lithuania.
Lyszczynski was educated in a Jesuit academy in Vilnius. He was the author of the treatise “On the Nonexistence of God,” fragments of which were discovered in 1957 and published in Poland. In 1687 the Jesuits instigated his arrest and trial before a bishop’s court. The Warsaw Sejm confirmed the court’s verdict, and Lyszczynski was executed for atheism.
