Petr Petrovich (born Aug. 4 [16], 1814, in St. Petersburg; died there June 5 [17], 1871) and Boris Petrovich (born Jan. 6 [18], 1827, in St. Petersburg; died there May 18 [30], 1893). Russian bibliographers and librarians at the library of the St. Petersburg Academy of Sciences.

The Lambins compiled the yearbook Russian Historical Bibliography, 1855–1864 (vols. 1–10, St. Petersburg, 1861–84), which described fully and precisely a wide range of writings on Russian and world history. Works on the Crimean War (1853–56), the bourgeois reform of the 1860’s, the Polish Uprising of 1863–64, and other events from the 1850’s to the 1870’s are well represented. The Lambins’ yearbooks are the best historical bibliographies for these years and are important today as a reference aid. Petr Lambin also compiled the Russian Bibliographic Index for 1855 (1856), which was praised by N. G. Chernyshevskii (Sovremennik, 1857, no. 3).
