Morzhovets

an island in the White Sea, at the entry to the Mezen’ Inlet. Area; about 110 sq km. The island is composed of loose sand and clay rocks with layers of fossil ice. Morzhovets Island is significantly diminishing in size because of wave erosion. There is tundra vegetation. A fishing settlement is located on the island.
