Mismanaged Property
Mismanaged Property
in civil law, property that the owner does not take care of, as a result of which it falls into ruin. In a number of cases Soviet civil law provides for the removal of mismanaged property from the citizen who is a negligent owner (Civil Code of the RSFSR, arts. 141, 142). As a rule, the property that is seized has significant artistic, economic, historical, or other value—for example, works of art, houses, historical documents, and the like. The value of the seized property is repaid in the amount set by agreement or, in the event of a disagreement, by a judge.
