Moscow Finance Institute
an institution of higher learning in economics established in 1946 through a merger of the Moscow Institute of Finance Economics and the Moscow Institute of Credit Economics.
In 1973 the Moscow Finance Institute consisted of departments devoted to finance, credit, accounting, international economic relations, and advanced training of instructors at higher institutions. The institute also has a graduate program, 18 sub-departments, a sectorial laboratory, and a library of 250, 000 volumes. During the 1972–73 academic year, around 3, 500 students were enrolled; the faculty consisted of more than 200 instructors, including 24 professors and doctors of sciences and about 150 docents and candidates of sciences. The institute has been granted the right to accept doctoral and candidate’s dissertations for defense. From 1946 until 1972 the institute graduated more than 11, 000 trained specialists.
