Moscow Institute of Electronic Technology
an institute that trains engineers and researchers in the most recent trends in electronic technology. Founded in 1965.
In 1973 the institute had departments of engineering physics, physical chemistry, microinstruments and technical cybernetics, and electronic machine building; an evening division; a department for advanced training of engineersand technicians; a preparatory division; 28 subdepartments; four sectorial special problem laboratories; a research sector; and an experimental pilot plant. During the 1972–73 academic year about 6, 000 students were studying at the institute; there were about 400 teachers, including 30 professors and doctors of sciences and about 200 docents and candidates of sciences. The institute confers candidate’s degrees. It trains about 700 specialists each year.
