Location:On US 101, 3 miles north of Novato.
Facilities:Picnic area, hiking and horseback trails, visitor center, exhibits; no drinking water available.
Activities:Hiking, horseback riding, guided tours.
Special Features:Park is on land that once supported a large village of the Coast MiwokIndians. Discovery here of a 16th-century English coin suggeststhat villagers may have had contact with either Sir Francis Drake or with peoplewho had traded with the early English explorer. A project is underwayto build several structures representative of a Coast Miwok village,which will be used as an interpretive and educational site.
