Ohlin, Lloyd E.

(1918– ) criminologist, educator; born in Belmont, Mass. A sociologist who focused on both adult and juvenile crime, he taught longest at Harvard (1967). He was special assistant to the secretary for juvenile delinquency, Office of Health, Education and Welfare (1961–62). He was associate director of the President's Commission on Law Enforcement and Administration of Justice (1966–67), and chairman of the advisory board of the National Institute of Law Enforcement and Criminal Justice (1978). He was the author of numerous books and articles.
