Although Landini was blinded from smallpox in childhood, he learned to play the lute, guitar, flute, and organ. His organ playing was highly regarded. Celebrated in his own day as a master of the Florentine ars nova style, among his works are madrigals, cacce, and ballate. His name was also spelled Landino. |
