Osipovichi

 

a city (since 1935) under oblast jurisdiction; administrative center of Osipovichi Raion, Mogilev Oblast, the Byelorussian SSR. Population, 23,000 (1974). Osipovichi is a railroad junction of lines to Mogilev, Minsk, Gomel’, and Grodno. The city has a food-processing and canning combine, a flour-milling combine, a bakery, a butter factory, and factories producing cardboard and roofing materials and reinforced-concrete items. There is also a wood products industry. The city has enterprises associated with the railroads.
