Moszyński, Kazimierz
Born Mar. 5, 1887, in Warsaw; died Mar. 30, 1959, in Kraków. Polish ethnologist. Professor at the University of Kraków from 1926.
Moszynski sought to combine the evolutionary approach with other new ethnological methods. His Folk Culture of the Slavs (vols. 1–2, 1929–39) was the first systematic comparative study of the material and spiritual culture of the Slavic peoples. In Man: An Introduction to General Ethnography and Ethnology (1958), his last major work, Moszyński analyzed the various trends in ethnology and its methodology.
