National Cancer Research Network

National Cancer Research Network

A UK body established in 2001 to provide the NHS with an infrastructure to support high-quality cancer studies, and improve the efficiency, quality and integration of research, resulting in improved patient care. The NCRN is well placed to explore and offer a collective response to broader generic issues affecting the cancer research community, and in the context of the National Institute for Health Research Clinical Research Network (NIHR CRN). The NCRN has an IT system to support initiatives in patient and public involvement, portfolio development, workforce development, NCRI clinical studies, and systematic reviews to address gaps in evidence base. It has links with NCRI Accredited and other clinical trials units and industry.
