Machkund

Machkund

 

(called Sileru in the lower course), a river in the eastern part of the Deccan plateau in India; located in the Godavari basin. Length, 249 km. The Duduma waterfalls (height, to 164 m) are on the Machkund. Also situated on the river is the Machkund hydroengineering complex (two dams with reservoirs and a hydroelectric power plant with a capacity of 120 megawatts).
