Langhnaj
Langhnaj
a habitation site dating from the late Mesolithic in the state of Gujarat. Langhnaj was investigated by the Indian archaeologist H. Sankalia in 1941–42. Geometric microliths were the principal tools found. The finds of fish and animal bones revealed that the population engaged in fishing and hunting. Some scientists believe that the dog was domesticated at that time. The oldest human skeletal remains in India have been found at Langhnaj. These skeletons have enabled scientists to detect a resemblance between the ancient population of Langhnaj and inhabitants of North Africa.
