Oltenita

a city in southern Rumania; port on the Danube, situated at the mouth of the Argeş River, in Ilfov District. Population, 21,500 (1972). Olteniţa has a shipyard, as well as enterprises of the spinning industry (synthetic and cotton yarn) and the food industry (flour-milling and distilling).
