A condition characterised by excess (> 3%) methaemoglobin in the circulation.
Clinical findings
Cyanosis, headache, dyspnoea, fatigue, drowsiness, ataxia, stupor.

methaemoglobinaemia

The presence of METHAEMOGLOBIN in the blood in excess of the normal 1%. This may occur as a hereditary condition or as a result of absorption of nitrites from the intestine. Methaemoglobinaemia causes CYANOSIS.
