MATE trial

Medicine vs Angioplasty for Thrombolytic Exclusions trial. A clinical study designed to determine if early triage angiography with revascularisation favourably affects clinical outcomes in patients with suspected acute myocardial infarction who are ineligible for thrombolysis.
Conclusion
Early triage angiography in patients with acute coronary syndromes who are ineligible for thrombolytics reduces the composite of recurrent ischaemic events or death, and shortens the time to definitive revascularisation during the index hospitalisation, but provides no long-term benefit in cardiac outcomes compared to conservative medical therapy with revascularisation prompted by recurrent ischaemia.
