Liteinoe Proizvodstvo

(Casting Production), a monthly scientific-technological and manufacturing journal, the organ of the Ministry of the Machine Tool and Instrument Industry of the USSR and the Scientific-Technological Society of the Machine-building Industry.

The journal was published as Liteinoe delo (Casting) from 1930 to 1941. Publication was suspended from 1941 until November of 1949, after which the journal began to appear as Liteinoe proizvodstvo. It discusses theoretical and practical problems of industrial casting and publicizes the most advanced work of Soviet enterprises in the area of production of high-quality casting alloys, discusses highly productive engineering processes for the production of castings, and deals with the integrated mechanization, automation, organization, and economics of the casting industry. The journal also publishes items on the advances in casting production abroad. Its circulation in 1973 was 14,000. A complete translation is published in Great Britain under the title Russian Casting Production (Birmingham, since 1961).
