Frolov, Nikolai Andrianovich

 

Born Apr. 1 (14), 1909, in the village of Tentiukovo (present-day Syktyvkar). Soviet Komi poet and mathematician.

From 1966 to 1972, Frolov was a professor at the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. In 1972 he became head of the sub-department of higher mathematics at the University of Syktyvkar.

Frolov first published his works in 1929. His first poetry collection was In Springtime (1941). Frolov is also the author of Domna (1936), a narrative poem about Domna Kalikova, a heroine of the Civil War in Komi Krai, and Deep in the Taiga (1941), a drama in verse based on folklore and history. He has also published a number of textbooks on higher mathematics.

Frolov has been awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor and various medals.
