Literaturnyi Kritik

Literaturnyi Kritik

(Literary Critic), a monthly journal of literary theory, criticism, and history. It was published in Moscow between 1933 and 1940; it was founded after the promulgation on Apr. 23, 1932, of the resolution of the Central Committee of the ACP(B) On Rebuilding Fiction Literature Organizations, which resulted in the liquidation of RAPP (Russian Association of Proletarian Writers) and other literary groups. The main departments of the journal were the theory and history of literature, literary criticism, surveys, bibliography, current news, and satire and humor.

Literaturnyi kritik ceased publication in accordance with the decree of the CC ACP(B) On Literary Criticism and Bibliography (1940), when permanent departments of criticism and bibliography were created in all literary, artistic, and sociopolitical journals.
