Location:9 miles east of Swan Quarter, North Carolina.
Facilities:Visitor contact station, viewing sites, observation towers, hiking trails (under development), auto tour route, boat ramps.

Special Features:Mattamuskeet lies in the middle of the Atlantic Flyway and provides a valuable wintering area for thousands of geese and 22 species of ducks.
Habitats: 50,180 acres total: Lake Mattamuskeet encompasses approximately 40,000 acres, and the remainder is marsh, timber, and croplands.
Access: Year round during daylight hours.
Wild life: Osprey, bald eagles, peregrine falcons, deer, bobcats, ottters, gray foxes, occasionally black bear and red wolf.
