Mit’kov, Mikhail Fotievich
Born circa 1791; died Oct. 23 (Nov. 4), 1849, in Krasnoiarsk. Decembrist.
Mit’kov was a colonel in the Finland Life Guards regiment. He took part in the Russo-French War of 1806–07, in the Patriotic War of 1812, and in the foreign campaigns of 1813–14. In 1821, he became a member of the Northern Society of Decembrists. Mit’kov was sentenced to 20 years of hard labor, which was later reduced to ten years. He worked in the Nerchinsk mines until 1836 and then settled in Krasnoiarsk.
