Nikolai Evgenevich Alekseevskii
Alekseevskii, Nikolai Evgen’evich
Born May 10 (23), 1912, in Petropavlovsk. Soviet physicist; corresponding member of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (1960).
Alekseevskii graduated from the Leningrad Polytechnical Institute in 1936. From 1936 to 1941 he worked at the Kharkov Institute of Physics and Engineering, and since 1942 he has been at the Institute of Physical Problems of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR. His main work has been in the areas of low temperatures (investigation of the properties of superconductors and superconducting alloys at low temperatures) and mass spectrometry. He received the State Prize of the USSR in 1967 and has been awarded two orders.
