Madiun

a city in Indonesia, in the province of Djawa Timur. Population, 136,000 (1971). Madiun is a transportation junction and the commercial center of an agricultural region that produces sugar, tobacco, spices, rice, and coffee. The city has textile and food processing plants; there are also railroad repair shops.
