MAD MAX
MAD MAX A heterodimeric protein complex formed from the gene products of MXD1 (popularly known as MAD) on chromosome 2p13-p12 and MAX on chromosome 14q23. Both are members of the basic helix-loop-helix leucine zipper (bHLHZ) family of transcription factors, which mediate cellular proliferation, differentiation and apoptosis.
