A termed attributed to Sigmund Freud who believed that men divide women into two types:
(1) Nice girls—'Madonnas' (who are likened to the Virgin Mary) and
(2) Naughty girls who are overtly erotic, uninhibited and available—i.e., 'prostitutes'
Per Freud, men choose one woman for love and to have their children—a Madonna—and another for sex, and believe that nice girls can’t be sexy and sexy girls can’t be nice
