释义 | motorymotory(ˈməʊtərɪ)MotoryMotoryan ethnic group that in the 17th and 18th centuries inhabited the mountain taiga zone of the basin of the Amyl, Oia, Kandegir, and Us rivers (in present-day Krasnoiarsk Krai, RSFSR). In the early 17th century, the Motory numbered approximately 700 persons. The language of the Motory was related to the Samoyedic languages. Their chief occupations were reindeer breeding, hunting, and—among some Motory—livestock raising. The Motory were shamanists. In the 19th century, most of the Motory migrated to the steppes between the Enisei and Abakan rivers, where they became part of the Khakas nationality. REFERENCEPotapov, L. P.
