mitosporic fungi

(mī-tō-spōr'ik fŭng'jī), fungi with asexual reproduction, or by mitosis rather than meiosis. A large portion of mitotic fungi have not been correlated with meiotic states. Mitosphoric fungi that have been correlated with teleomorphs in the ascomycetes and basidiomycetes can be termed anamorphs or anamorphic states of those groups.
